What is Organic Matcha?

Great Rise Organic Matcha is from an area renowned for producing high-grade tea that has

unique inland climate perfectly suited to growing tea.A variety of conditions must be met in

order to be treated as organic matcha, and an organic tea garden must grow tea in healthy

soil which has not been treated with pesticides or chemical fertilizers for 3 years.Only after

practicing organic management for 3 years and passing a strict inspection by a third-party

organization are they recognized as an organic tea garden.  Great Rise Organic Matcha meet

with EU , NOP, CERES, BRC Organic Standard.

Herbicides cannot be used around the tea garden, and matcha takes time and effort,

requiring the tea garden be covered to shade the plants from the sun for 20 days or more.

Covering the plants prevents excessive bitterness and astringency while increasing savoriness,

and slowly drying the picked tea leaves in stone ovens produces high-quality, extremely

precious matcha.
